“If you know the enemy and know yourself, your victory will not stand in doubt.”
This quote by Sun Tzu in The Art of War very well describes the need to know all about the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent as well as about yourself in order to emerge victorious. Similarly, every exam has its own requirements and demands. This means however knowledgeable you are or whichever background you belong to, until and unless, you are not meeting those standards you are out of the race. And UPSC is one such examination, said to be a great leveler.
Prelims is said to be the biggest hurdle in the way of success of aspirants because every single mark, sometimes even decimals, decides if a candidate will be writing mains or not. Until now GS-1 performance has been the nut around which this opportunity-bolt spinned. But, the recent two-three years’ trend is deflecting the graph towards our second determinant GS-II as well. Said to be of qualifying nature and based on the previous year questions asked, those who had PCM background in school, colleges or be it IIT, IIM students (as we have all types of candidates as competitors), have even been seen failing prelims just because they didn’t pay enough attention to this paper. Just as it is said that you should never underestimate your opponent, similarly UPSC has turned the tables for GS-II. Just because it is said to be basic aptitude, a serious aspirant could now not afford to go unprepared for this paper even. If the ones who carry the similar aptitude due to their academic backgrounds are faltering in this section, then that straightly suggests that the strategy and preparation required for this paper needs direly to be revisited.
Understanding this changing demand of the UPSC, we are all prepared to launch our UPSC CSAT Expert Program 2023, which consists of detailed preparation for Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Reading Comprehension.
Course Features
Do not let your months/years of toil get wasted just because the qualifying paper raised its level. The recent trend now proves it to be eliminating paper rather than qualifying.
