2.  In minimum wages act 1948, to protect the employees form the inflation, there is provision of VDA( variable dearness allowance), 26 govt. and union govt. currently have this provision and central govt. in her capacity revises it twice a year on 1st April and 1st October.

3. As a step towards a uniform wage structure in the country with a view to reduce the disparity in Minimum Wages across the country, the concept of National Floor Level Minimum Wage(NFLMW was introduced on the basis of recommendations of National Commission of Rural Labour(NCRL).

4.The Payment of Wages Act,1936 ensures timely payment of wages and stipulates that no unauthorized deductions are made from the wages of the workers.

5.At present, only Wage Boards for Journalists and Non Journalist newspaper employees are continuing as statutory Wage Boards.

6. Currently Journalists and Non Journalist newspaper employees and Miscellaneous Provision Act, 1955 regulates the conditions of serivces of working journlisits and other persons employed in newspaper establishments.
